"Within 10 years, only 40% of big corporations that currently exist, will still exist," is how former ASOS Ventures founder Daniel Bobroff began his talk at our latest EMEA Exec Connect event in London. And depending on your perspective, that’s either a scary thought or an exciting opportunity. For us, it’s the latter – and our summary of the event discusses the key areas that Daniel and our other guests felt retailers and brands should concentrate on, to avoid joining that statistic.

Time doesn’t slow down, it just seems to get quicker, and before we know it we’ll be into the third decade of the 21st Century. In just 24 months we’ll hit the year 2020 – and at that point the Middle East’s ecommerce market will be worth a massive $20 billion. That growth’s being driven by one thing: the change in how consumers look for and buy products.

"65% of marketers consider that Data is the main challenge that prevent them for achieving their marketing objectives" according to a survey done by Forrester in France, UK and Germany. "Using data from other companies allows to better understand the behaviour of the consumer, his preferences too, in other contexts so as to get a more global and detailed bision of consumers, wheter they are customers or not".

This was one of the key topics discussed at the Exec Connect event in Paris.
